Debbie Smith
Debbie Smith is the Vice President of Two Trails, Inc., and President of Green Building University. Her diverse and extensive background gives her a unique understanding of how technologies can impact ecosystems and destroy environments unless properly managed. Debbie has been involved in ecological and sustainable practices for well over 20 years.
Her extensive international management background has enabled her to develop achievable ecological solutions for large and small businesses with an emphasis on “green” or “sustainable” products helping them to focus on short and long-term business goals. Focusing on property management Debbie is bringing a new direction to the building industry…Green Property Management. Once a building is designed and built according to Green Standards, it needs to be maintained in accordance with those standards; otherwise, it will not perform to the optimum level that it was designed.
Accomplishments:
- Vice President, Two Trails, Inc. 2001- Present - I deal with all aspects of environmental impact. Develop systems or contact inventors on new technologies helping them to bring those ideas into the mainstream. Investigate chemical substances for environmental hazards and usages.
- Florida Green Building Coalition Certifying Agent – Provides third party certification of the FGBC Green Building Standards.
- Green Lodging Rater State of Florida – working with hotels and motels to develop sustainable practices throughout their building.
- Florida Green Building Coalition for over 8 years – Developed marketing materials from its inception and supported the effort to make FGBC the standard for home building in the State of Florida.
- Active member of Global Green – an organization dedicated to providing affordable housing while looking at land management for environmental issues.
- Founder of Green Building University – an online selection of courses dedicated to educating novice to expert on the principles of environmentally friendly sustainable development projects. Projects including homes, schools, land development, commercial projects, parks, innovative transportation alternatives, advanced technologies for sustainable ecosystems, watersheds, ocean impacts, global warming, artificial reefs, etc…
- Assisting Green Building Blocks devise a network of sustainable resources for all phases of environmental impact.
- Former Vice President Worldwide Sales and Marketing Peek Traffic, Inc. Palmetto, FL. 1999-2001 Traveled worldwide dealing with government officials to advise them on the impact of traffic on third world countries and installation of internal systems for control centers and environmental issues related to conservation of natural habits and maintaining balanced ecosystems.
- Former Worldwide Business Unit Manager Peek Traffic, Inc. Sarasota, FL 1998-1999 In charge of international development of traffic systems. Research and development of new technology to allow conservation of natural habitats and cultures.

Sarasota, FL. 1997-1998 Dealing with local and national governments on the development of solutions for traffic flow issues. IDRIS (Sunpass) technology, redlight cameras, traffic control systems and automated gate controls.

Personally hand- picked project teams from around the world to implement strategies of international companies such as Alltel, Nortel, Cisco Systems, Avon, MaryKay, Verizon, Sprint, General Motors, FORD Motors, NASA, Boeing Corporation and undisclosed areas of the US government.
- Former Vice President of Marketing Diverse Computer Corporation, Milwaukee, WI – Advised a small computer company to diversify and established 3 other locations tripling size and market share in under 3 year. Company went from $1 million a year company to $35 million in 4 years.
- Former Business Manager Department of Behavioral Medicine Center Columbia Hospital/St. Mary’s Hospital, Milwaukee, WI. – I was responsible for the everyday operations of the in-house psychiatric center. Including the AIDS Awareness Center and the Emergency Mental Health Line.

- Founder of Purple Parrot Rescue - established a rescue for abused, forced breeders and behavioral problem large and medium sized parrots – retrain severally abused parrots working with area zoos and avian specialists for replacement into proper homes or permanent placement in educational programs to teach children and adults about the rainforest and deforestation of their natural habitat. Some will remain at the rescue to live out their lives because of severe mutilation or non-acceptance of human interaction. No animal is ever placed into a forced breeding situation.
- International recognition in fine arts – sculpture – apprenticeship under Morgan T. Paine, Georgia O’Keeffe, Sr. Lucinda Hubing, Thomas Hovorka, and John Scuelly all internationally renowned artists in their own field of study.
